What is the allowable height of a hose reel?

This is the most often non-compliance item we come across. There are two factors with hose reels. The first one is the isolation valve which is required to be installed at a height measured between 900mm and 1100mm from the centre spindle of the valve to ground level. In conjunction with this the center of the hose reel drum requires installing at a height between 1400mm & 2400mm from ground level. The problem here is that if you install the valve at 900mm from ground level the drum will be below 1400mm from ground level. The ideal and easiest way to install a hose reel is to installed the valve at a height of 1000mm from ground level, therefore the drum will always be installed at a height above 1400mm from ground level.
